Casino is an installation that gives a voice to everyday objects. This is accomplished through a series of acts that include trompe l’oeil techniques, appropriation, and reintroduction of the objects—in this case, magnets.
Over the course of a week, I stole all the magnets from the the Reinwardt Academie of the Arts, replacing them with hand-painted watercolors. I then infiltrated the school’s communication screens, displaying images of the now kidnapped magnets. Finally, I returned the magnets, carefully arranged inside steel lockers like casino dice, completing the cycle of disappearance and return.
